Smaller 38 mm Models with Striking Dials with the big moon phase indicator
Arnold & Son has unveiled two new limited editions in their famous Perpetual Moon collection renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, now offered in a smaller size while maintaining the brand’s signature large moon phase indicator. These two models are available with either an aventurine glass dial or a sunray-brushed grey dial. The collection was first introduced in 2013, but this smaller 38 mm size was only launched last year. Previously, the editions were sized at 41 mm, as seen in the Celestial Blue platinum version with its stunning blue dial.
Both editions feature cases made of 5N red gold. Measuring 38 mm in diameter and 10.44 mm in thickness, the case has a polished bezel, lugs, and crown, and is fitted with sapphire crystal on both sides. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters.
The two dial options include a blue aventurine glass dial and a sunray-brushed Cliff Grey dial, with a large moon phase indicator positioned in the upper part of the dial. This captivating design was first seen last year in an exclusive piece for the Chinese New Year.
The moon, crafted from mother-of-pearl, is hand-painted and coated with Super-LumiNova, emitting a bright white glow in the dark. In the aventurine edition, the sky is made of aventurine glass, while in the grey edition, the sky is PVD-treated.
Arnold & Son's Swiss manufacture has developed an entirely new calibre, the A&S1612, the smallest in its collection, specifically for the Perpetual Moon 38. This hand-wound movement measures 30 mm in diameter and continues the brand’s tradition of long power reserves, offering up to 90 hours. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (vph).
The new Perpetual Moon 38 models come with alligator leather straps in blue or grey, matching each dial, and are secured with an 18k red gold pin buckle. The Perpetual Moon 38 Red Gold Blue Aventurine edition is limited to 88 pieces and retails for CHF 36,700, which is equivalent to AED 158,000, while the Cliff Grey edition is limited to 28 pieces and retails for CHF 32,400, which is equivalent to AED 140,000.
