Sporty Elegance in shines in Gold, The Fourth Iteration of the Odysseus
For Watches and Wonders 2025, A. Lange & Söhne introduces the elegant Odysseus sports watch with a case crafted from "Honey Gold," featuring a brown dial and a matching bracelet made from the same metal. This proprietary alloy was developed by the German brand in 2010 and has since been used in several notable releases, including the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon showcased at last year’s Watches and Wonders and the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater presented earlier.
The Odysseus collection marks A. Lange & Söhne’s first foray into the world of elegant sports watches and represents a significant milestone in the brand's history. Introduced in 2019, it was the company’s first permanent release made of stainless steel, followed by versions in white gold and titanium. Now, the latest addition comes in "Honey Gold."
This edition is limited to 100 pieces and stands out with its unique blend of contemporary elegance. It is the fourth iteration in the Odysseus lineup, distinguished by its color and material, combining the exclusive "Honey Gold," renowned for its unique hue and exceptional hardness compared to traditional gold.
The case measures 40.5 mm in diameter and 11.1 mm in thickness. It features date and day adjustment pushers positioned harmoniously above and below the screw-down crown, enhancing the watch’s distinctive appearance. The narrow bezel offers more space for the dial, while the attractive interplay of polished surfaces and chamfered edges is reflected in the lugs and the links of the 750 "Honey Gold" bracelet. The case is water-resistant to 120 meters.

The elegant brown dial perfectly complements the radiance of A. Lange & Söhne’s proprietary "Honey Gold" alloy. The hands and hour markers are made from the same metal, while the base plate of the dial is crafted from brass. The spear-shaped hour and minute hands, along with the hour markers, are coated with luminescent material, ensuring optimal legibility in low light.
The white numerals of the signature large date at 3 o’clock and the bold letters displaying the day at 9 o’clock stand out clearly against the brown background. The textured pattern between the hour markers and on the small seconds sub-dial creates a three-dimensional effect, contrasting with the glossy inner surfaces of both the main and sub-dials.
The red "60" on the peripheral minute track printed on the golden sloped chapter ring adds a lively touch. The small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock features the same decorative pattern as the main dial.
The finely finished movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The "DATOMATIC" inscription on the central rotor refers to the integration of the date mechanism with the automatic winding system. The design includes a partially black rhodium-coated skeletonized rotor with a 950 platinum centrifugal mass. The plates and bridges are made of untreated German silver, featuring blued screws and a gold chaton securing the escape wheel.
When fully wound, the mainspring barrel provides a 50-hour power reserve. The balance wheel operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The hand-engraved balance bridge features a wave pattern, symbolizing the watch's water resistance.
The bracelet, with its five-link design made from "Honey Gold," is equipped with a safety clasp featuring a fine adjustment mechanism for length customization. The "Odysseus Honey Gold" is a limited edition of only 100 pieces.
