Three Dials in Distinct Colors and Cases in Various Materials
Rado is a renowned Swiss watchmaking brand, established in 1950, known for its pioneering use of innovative materials and exceptional craftsmanship. The brand is recognized for its design-forward approach, integrating high-tech ceramics and other advanced materials into luxury timepieces. Over the years, Rado has built a reputation for creating durable yet elegant watches that stand the test of time.
One of Rado’s most iconic collections is the DiaStar, first introduced in 1962. This collection marked a revolutionary moment in the watch industry as it was the world’s first timepiece to feature Hardmetal, a material developed by Rado that offered exceptional scratch resistance, is a composite material consisting of a ceramic – tungsten carbide – and a metal binder. The DiaStar was not just a breakthrough in terms of material innovation, but also in its design, which blended durability with style in a way never seen before. In its latest release this year, the brand has introduced a new edition of the 'DiaStar Original Automatic' watch, available in three dial colors.
The watch comes in a diameter 30mm and 11mm of thickness case, elegantly crowned by a polished platinum-colored Ceramos bezel that seamlessly merges with the polished stainless-steel middle case. This design ensures a sophisticated yet durable structure, offering water resistance up to 100 meters. The recessed crown at 3 o'clock and the hidden lugs enhance the watch's sleek, streamlined appearance. Additionally, the dial is protected by a vertical faceted sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside, providing clarity and durability while minimizing glare.
The DiaStar Original Automatic offers three dial options, blue, purple, and turquoise. Each dial is brushed in two directions, creating a unique 4-quarter pattern that plays elegantly with light, adding depth and dimension to the watch. The iconic silver-colored moving anchor is a standout feature, gracefully shifting with the wearer’s movements, while a meticulously positioned date window at 6 o'clock enhances the dial’s functionality. Rhodium-colored hands, filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensure legibility even in low light, combining style and practicality in perfect harmony.
The watch is powered by the Rado calibre R586 automatic movement, ensuring precise timekeeping and reliable performance. This movement is equipped with an antimagnetic hairspring, which enhances accuracy and stability, with a 48-hour power reserve.
It comes with a polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet, secured by a 3-fold clasp, and priced at CHF 1,400 approximately AED 6,000.
