A Nod to Switzerland’s Grande Dixence the tallest dam in Europe
In celebration of Geneva Watch Days, Perrelet unveils two new creations in a refined ice-blue hue: the "Turbine Carbon Ice Blue" and the "Turbine Titanium Ice Blue." Drawing inspiration from the Grande Dixence, the world’s tallest gravity dam located in Switzerland, these models bring a fresh and stylish interpretation to the iconic Turbine collection.
Perrelet never misses the chance to mark big events, as demonstrated by their special releases at SIAR in Mexico, such as the ¡Viva México, Cabrones! edition, and the Turbine Splash for Chicago. Now, we celebrate two new timepieces crafted in different materials and sizes.
Perrelet, the Bienne-based watchmaker with roots dating back to 1777, is renowned for its innovative animated dials, thanks to its patented Double Rotor and Turbine technologies. The brand is now expanding its iconic Turbine collection with two new models: the Turbine Carbon Ice Blue and the Turbine Titanium Ice Blue. Inspired by the Grande Dixence, the world’s tallest gravity dam located in Western Switzerland, these timepieces showcase Perrelet’s boundless creativity. The dam, a remarkable feat of engineering, stands 285 meters high and holds 400 million cubic meters of water at the Val des Dix, 25 km south of Sion.
Perrelet's two new timepieces draw inspiration from the Grande Dixence dam. The turbine, a key feature of hydroelectric power stations, also takes center stage on the dials, a signature of the Turbine collection since 2009. These models showcase a bold ice-blue aesthetic, evoking the serene beauty of high mountains and water in its many forms—snow, ice, and frost.
Two different sizes, two very light materials, allowing optimal comfort and the best wearability on any wrist thanks to their perfectly ergonomic shape. Two colours define the look of these two models: ice blue and black. Skilfully mixed, they endow the watches with a unique and strong aesthetics.
The timepiece boasts a 44mm case, featuring a central body crafted from polycarbonate and carbon fiber, adorned with its distinctive grooves. Complementing this design, the flat, smooth bezel and caseback come in matte black PVD stainless steel. Personalized with the letter "P" of the logo, the crown echoes.. With water resistance up to 100 meters, the watch is suitable for daily wear, enduring wet conditions and splashes. Its dial is shielded by a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal, which is also fitted on the rear of the watch.
while the TURBINE TITANIUM features a polished and brushed grade 2 titanium case with a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13.90 mm. It includes a flat, smooth bezel, a vertically fluted case back, triple lugs, and a prominent crown adorned with the brand's logo. The case back is covered with a sapphire crystal
The dial of the Turbine Carbon Ice Blue stands out with its captivating ice-blue lower layer, showcasing the brand's signature turbine technology. The 12 black anodized aluminum turbine blades, accented with five tungsten counterweights, create a dynamic visual effect. Surrounding this,The “Californian style” ice blue chapter ring features an unusual mix of indices, Arabic and Roman numerals. Luminescent hour and minute hands and a blue central seconds hand complete the dial, offering both readability and elegance, alongside a striking blue central seconds hand for a final touch of refinement.
The dial of the Turbine Titanium Ice Blue features an elegant ice-blue lower layer and a turbine with 12 black anodized aluminum blades, accented by five tungsten counterweights. Surrounding the turbine, Arabic numerals and indices, filled with white Super-LumiNova®, are embossed on a matte black ring for excellent readability. The design is completed with gray central hour and minute hands, also filled with Super-LumiNova, and a striking blue central seconds hand for added contrast and style. This blue is a different shade from the one used in the Carbon edition.
Both timepieces are powered by an automatic movement, of course. The company only uses a self-winding movement in its watches in honor of its founder, Abraham Louis Perrelet, who was the first to develop the automatic movement. This watch is powered by the automatic caliber P-331-MH movement, which operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations. per hour (4 Hz), and provides a 42-hour power reserve. The movement was designed entirely in-house and manufactured by the Swiss company Suprod, a subsidiary of the Festina group, which also owns Perrelet. The P-331-MH caliber is so reliable that it has received two different horological certifications from reputable independent institutions: one from COSC and the other from Chronofiable. As for the final finishes, the main plate is decorated with a snailed pattern, the bridges are decorated with a circular grain pattern, and the oscillating weight is polished and rhodium-plated, which bears the Perrelet logo.
The Turbine Carbon Ice Blue features a black calf leather strap with an alligator pattern, ice-blue stitching, and a rubber lining, paired with a folding clasp in black PVD stainless steel, embellished with the Perrelet logo. Meanwhile, the Turbine Titanium Ice Blue is fitted with an ice-blue rubber strap and a black DLC-coated titanium pin buckle, also adorned with the Perrelet logo. Both watches are priced at CHF 4,980, equivalent to 21,650 AED.
