Introducing Chronora A New Emirati Brand Enters the World of Haute horlogerie

Born in Abu Dhabi, Chronora began as a pursuit to redefine timekeeping through a modern lens, blending precision with forward-thinking design. After years of development, the brand was founded out of a passion for creating watches that not only measure time, but also express innovation and artistry. 

The name “Chronora” is derived from the Greek word chronos, meaning time, symbolizing a deep connection to tradition, while the brand’s contemporary aesthetic embodies the future of watchmaking.

 Each Chronora timepiece merges past and future, offering both elegance and performance for those who appreciate innovation in their everyday lives.

Founded by Awadh Al Mur, the brand is the result of over three years of meticulous design aimed at fusing vintage charm with modern craftsmanship. 

Launching in one of the most competitive categories—chronographs—Awadh introduced three bi-compax chronographs inspired by the natural beauty of the UAE. The debut trio includes: Al Mugheirah, Al Dhanna, and Liwa.

All three watches share a case that exemplifies both durability and refined aesthetics. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case measures 38.5mm in diameter and 12.7mm in thickness (10.9mm without the domed sapphire crystal), offering an ideal balance between wrist presence and everyday wearability. The 46mm lug-to-lug length and 20mm lug width provide versatility for strap changes and comfort on a variety of wrist sizes.

While the chronograph pushers and crown are positioned on the right side of the case, the left side features a distinctive steel plate secured by two screws and engraved with the brand name. Protecting the dial is a pot cover sapphire crystal, known for its superior scratch resistance and clarity. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters, ensuring durability in day-to-day settings.

The dials are inspired by the natural landscapes of the UAE and are manufactured using hydraulic pressure with fine azurage detailing.

Al Dhanna features a black dial reminiscent of the rugged textures of Jebel Dhanna’s rocky terrain.

Liwa showcases a warm brown dial inspired by the fine sands of the Liwa desert, echoing the golden hues and shifting textures of the dunes.

Al Mugheirah is adorned with a deep blue dial reflecting the serene waters of Al Mugheirah beach.

Powering the collection is the Seiko Instruments (SII) VK64A caliber—, hybrid mecaquartz movement. This bi-compax chronograph layout includes a 60-minute counter at 9 o'clock and a 24-hour indicator at 3 o'clock, combining quartz precision with the tactile response of mechanical chronographs.

Each watch comes with a premium leather strap, equipped with quick-release spring bars and a stainless steel pin buckle engraved with the Chronora logo. Retail price: AED 2,493.
