Introducing TAOS, The New Name in the World of Luxury Watchmaking

Timepieces that Combine Craftsmanship and Traditional Watchmaking Arts

TAOS emerges as a fusion of the visionary expertise of Geneva's esteemed dial maker, Atelier Olivier Vaucher, and the experienced Olivier Gaud. Together, they introduce an innovative concept in watchmaking: timepieces that integrate various exceptional artistic crafts. Each watch is a singular masterpiece meticulously crafted in their Geneva workshop, where extraordinary dials are brought to life through intricately decorated mechanical movements.

Driven by a commitment to craft each watch as a unique masterpiece, and every dial as an individual work of art, the ethos of our brand is rooted in this principle. This dedication is the culmination of years of experience, patience, and creativity honed by the more than 40 skilled artisans at Atelier Olivier Vaucher. While the name "Atelier Olivier Vaucher" may not immediately resonate with all, it stands as a revered supplier of artistic dials. Established in Geneva in 1978 by Olivier and Dominique Vaucher, the company operates discreetly behind the scenes for some of the most prestigious names in the watch industry. With a team of 40 collaborators, the atelier draws upon expertise spanning over 15 distinct crafts and professions, including enameling, miniature painting, hand-engraving, gem-setting, and more.

Oliver Gaud, well-known for founding the Oligo brand, embarked on a distinguished career path that encompassed roles at several prestigious organizations, including Christie's, Apple, Cartier, and Vacheron Constantin. Throughout his journey, he acquired valuable experience across a spectrum of roles, spanning from after-sales service to market management.

This collaboration between Olivier and Dominique Vaucher with Olivier Gaud sparked the inception of this unique venture. Their vision entails leveraging the workshop's expertise and resources to meticulously craft a select few exceptional artistic watches annually. The name "TAOS" draws inspiration from a quaint community in New Mexico renowned for its art colony and also signifies the Greek word for peacock.

The inaugural collection comprises seven distinctive timepieces, each housed in a 38 mm diameter and 10 mm thick case, crafted from either 18K white gold or 5N rose gold, embellished with diamonds to complement the dial's theme. The slim profile of the case enhances the watch's elegance, harmonizing with the aesthetics of the dial. Precise details such as the intricate lugs, precise angles, sloping bezel, and curved case back work in harmony to highlight each creation, allowing the design to captivate attention and then gracefully recede into the background.

Each dial of the seven timepieces requires over 200 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, with the hours and minutes hands fashioned from gold leaf-shaped material, slightly curved, and mirror-polished for a refined finish.

Euphorie: Featuring a dominant palette of red, orange, and black, adorned with a Grand Feu paillonné enamel overlay of paillons and multiple layers of enamel, each fired meticulously.

Envol Bleu: Exhibiting a striking blue hue, with intricate hand-engraving beneath the enamel, complemented by paillonné enamel and diamond setting. The lugs are adorned with diamonds.

Envol Rouge: Radiating shades of red and orange at its center, enhanced by hand engraving under enamel, paillonné enamel, and diamond setting. The lugs are embellished with diamonds.

Floréal: Showcasing a sophisticated blend of silver, blue, and pink, with enamel on silver-leaf paillons, cloisonné enamel, hand-engraved mother-of-pearl, miniature painting on mother-of-pearl, and gem-setting.

Ondes: in white, featuring engraving on mother-of-pearl across multiple layers, echoing patterns found on the movement.

Broderies: Radiating elegance with gold and white tones, showcasing strands of enamel drawn in intricate floral patterns reminiscent of embroidery. The dial is adorned with gem-setting, while the bezel and lugs are set with diamonds.

Kaleidoscope: Harmonizing shades of blue and green, with stone mosaic inlay, an engraved mother-of-pearl center, and motifs in white gold.

All watches are outfitted with the identical movement, displaying hours and minutes: the automatic VOP318. This movement operates at 4Hz and offers a comfortable 3-day power reserve. While its components undergo meticulous hand-decoration at Atelier Vaucher, with up to 100 hours dedicated to each movement, the caliber VOP318 itself is engineered by Telos. the suisse atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Telos is a distinguished designer and producer of high-grade niche movements.

The watches feature blue, chocolate, or green calfskin straps, meticulously hand-sewn in Geneva with visible saddle stitching. Additionally, a beige nubuck leather for 'Broderies'. Completing the ensemble is an 18K gold pin buckle.
