A limited edition golden timepiece in a collaboration with French designer Ora ïto
In 2004, Vacheron Constantin introduced the Patrimony collection, a line of stunning and elegant dress watches characterized by their sleek and timeless design. Drawing inspiration from a 1957 model, the collection pays homage to the grand watchmaking tradition, blending classic aesthetics with intricate craftsmanship hidden beneath its minimalist appearance. This year, marking the 20th anniversary of the Patrimony collection, the brand continues its celebration with new releases.

Following the unveiling of three models at Watches and Wonders 2024, Vacheron Constantin has now introduced a special 100-piece limited edition, born from a collaboration with renowned French designer Ora ïto. Known for his philosophy of “Simplexity,” which emphasizes the art of making complicated things look easy.
To truly grasp the essence of the collection, we must take a step back in time. The 1950s were a defining era for watchmaking, characterized by the creation of exceptional calibers that combined remarkable slenderness with masterful craftsmanship. Vacheron Constantin’s ultra-thin manual-winding 1001 and 1003 movements were prime examples of this.
Patrimony - Reference 6179 (1957)
These calibers powered the iconic References 6179 and 6187, which hold a special place in the brand’s history. The Caliber 1001 measures just 2.94 mm thick. This movement laid the groundwork for the Caliber 1003, launched in 1955 to commemorate Vacheron Constantin’s bicentenary. At only 1.64 mm thick, it was the world’s thinnest movement at the time and remains one of the finest manual-winding calibers ever crafted.

Drawing inspiration from these historic creations, Vacheron Constantin introduced the Patrimony collection in 2004. Over the past 2 decades, the collection has showcased a series of classic timepieces, all characterized by their refined, understated design and timeless elegance. The new watch features a sleek 18K yellow gold case, measuring 40 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm in thickness. The polished case is elegantly topped with a sapphire crystal, which perfectly frames the gold-colored dial, enhancing the watch's timeless appeal.
The dial showcases a beautifully intricate circular pattern, accentuated by a circular “pearl” minute track made up of polished 18K yellow gold pearls. This design is complemented by 18K yellow gold applied indices and hands, which enhance the watch's luxurious aesthetic. Additionally, a date window positioned at 6 o'clock.
The watch is powered by the in-house 2450 Q6 caliber, an automatic movement with a slim profile of just 3.60 mm. This caliber provides approximately 40 hours of power reserve and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). It is also Hallmark of Geneva certified, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship. The timepiece is paired with a burgundy calfskin leather strap, featuring a yellow gold pin buckle. The price remains available upon request.
