Expanding the Performance Chronograph collection with a perpetual calendar
At Watches and Wonders 2025, IWC further elevated its iconic Pilot’s Watch collection with the introduction of the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (IW388801). Building on the success of the 2023 Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41, this new timepiece highlights the brand’s ongoing evolution, seamlessly merging an advanced chronograph with a perpetual calendar.
The watch is crafted from IWC’s proprietary Ceratanium, a material that blends the lightness and strength of titanium with the scratch resistance of ceramic. The case, along with the crown, pushers, and bracelet, are all made from this innovative material. It measures 43mm in diameter and 16.5mm in thickness. The case also features a black ceramic bezel with a golden tachymeter scale. On the caseback, a tinted sapphire crystal offers a clear view of the movement. With 100 meters of water resistance, this watch is both stylish and functional, ready for daily wear.
The black hammered dial is a standout feature, offering a digital perpetual calendar displayed through golden double-digit discs for the date and month at 3 and 9 o'clock. At 6 o’clock, a single-digit leap year indicator shares space with the small seconds. The chronograph’s hours and minutes are combined in a counter at noon, and Super-LumiNova ensures legibility in low light across the hands and Arabic numerals.
Powered by the IWC-manufactured calibre 89802, this watch features an automatic flyback chronograph with a perpetual calendar function. The 474-part movement operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 68-hour power reserve. The timepiece comes with a Ceratanium bracelet secured by a folding clasp. It is priced at CHF 80,000, equivalent to AED 320,000.
