Elegant Blue Accents Enhance the Skeleton Design with a Refined PVD Treatment
After Arnold & Son launched the black Nebula 40 Steel edition, along with a gold version last year to celebrate the 260th anniversary of John Arnold’s legacy, a new blue version now joins the lineup of this refined skeletonized timepiece. While retaining the same meticulous design elements, the new edition stands out with its blue color achieved through PVD treatment on the movement components.
As seen in the new Nebula editions launched last year, the case of the Nebula collection has undergone a significant redesign, resulting in a more modern and refined look. Featuring streamlined lugs, a softly rounded bezel, and a more vertical case middle, the proportions are perfectly balanced with a 40 mm diameter and a slim thickness of just 9.10 mm. Crafted in polished stainless steel, the case is equipped with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a sapphire display case back. The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters.
The new Nebula 40 Steel comes in blue details. as the mainplate is blue PVD Treated, flange, and barrel covers. The central hours and minutes hands are complemented by a small seconds display positioned at 7 o’clock.
The seven bridges that surround the dial are palladium-finished, providing a brilliant contrast with their satin-finished surfaces and polished corners. These finishes are further enhanced by the intricate 'Rayons de la Gloire' motif, a signature aesthetic detail of the brand.
At the heart of the Nebula 40 Steel is the in-house A&S5201 calibre, a movement specifically developed for the Nebula line. Inspired by nebulae, the architecture of the movement is defined by seven functional and skeletonized bridges, harmoniously arranged to create an open, star-like structure that reflects the collection's celestial namesake.
On the reverse side, the case back reveals two large, intersecting ogival bridges that support the functional components of the movement. Powered by two large barrels arranged in series, the Nebula 40 Steel offers an impressive 90-hour power reserve. The energy from the barrels is transferred to the gear train, whose layout continues the star-shaped design theme, culminating in a balance wheel oscillating at 3 Hz (21,600 vph).
It comes with a stainless steel bracelet, blue alligator leather strap, or blue rubber strap, featuring a stainless steel folding clasp on the bracelet and a pin buckle on the alligator and rubber straps.
