Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Celebrates Independent Creators in Abu Dhabi and Dubai
Hosted by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the Mavericks of Time exhibition celebrates independent watchmaking, offering a unique journey into the world of horology’s trail blazers. This event shines a spotlight on visionary artisans who defy industry conventions, pushing the craft into an exciting new era.
The exhibition’s debut will be in Abu Dhabi, taking place at the Space42 Arena on November 2nd and 3rd, from 12 PM to 10 PM. While this may seem like yet another watch show, it stands apart in its fresh approach and immersive experience.
Building on the tradition of fine watch gatherings with a distinct twist, Mavericks of Time promises an entirely new way to engage with horology. Designed to captivate a younger, more inquisitive audience, it’s as much a celebration of mechanical artistry as it is a dynamic exploration of the evolution of timepieces. Beyond the chance to discover and acquire exclusive models onsite or at Seddiqi’s Abu Dhabi boutique, attendees will experience a theatrical showcase of independent and innovative watch brands unveiling their latest marvels.
Following its Abu Dhabi debut, Mavericks of Time will arrive in Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum from November 9 to 10, 2024, at the Museum of the Future. Open to the public with free registration, the Dubai event invites visitors to explore pioneering brands that are redefining horology through exceptional craftsmanship, creativity, and advanced innovation. Hours are Saturday, November 9th, from 12 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday, November 10th, from 12 PM to 7 PM.
At the heart of the exhibition lies the “Time Capsule,” an experience that takes guests on a journey through four pivotal eras of watchmaking. Moving from one section to the next, visitors encounter not just timepieces but a curated narrative that traces the evolution of the craft.
The journey begins with the “Classical Era,” where precision and traditional craftsmanship are paramount. Here, timeless designs and exquisite materials reflect the rigor and elegance of early watchmaking.
The next section, the “Industrial Era,” embodies the robust spirit of innovation, with exposed gears and sturdy steel aesthetics evoking an age when watches transformed from delicate artifacts into durable instruments, where engineering met artistry.
In “Modernization & Innovation,” clean lines and innovative materials showcase a harmonious blend of technical and aesthetic refinement, appealing to a generation that values both accuracy and style.
Finally, the “Futuristic Precision” section pushes boundaries with bold designs, groundbreaking movements, and experimental materials, inviting visitors to glimpse the cutting edge of watchmaking’s future.
The exhibition will witness the participation of 15 brands. Bovet, Chronoswiss, De Bethune, Girard Charles, Girard-Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, H. Moser & Cie., HYT, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F, Ressence, Speake-Marin, Ulysse Nardin, Urwerk, and Vyntage Horology, each bringing its own vision to the world of independent watchmaking.
