Introducing Frederique Constant Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Highlife Collection

Frederique Constant, founded in 1988 by Peter Stas and his wife Aletta Bax, is a Swiss watch brand based in Geneva. The brand is famous for its classic and traditional designs, as well as its in-house movement production, making high-quality watches that are affordable for a wide range of people.

The Highlife collection debuted in 1999 as an affordable luxury sports watch. The collection was relaunched in 2020, and two years later, the brand introduced the Highlife Chronograph. This year, the brand celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Highlife collection. To mark this occasion, Frederique Constant is expanding the 41mm Chronograph Automatic with two new releases: one in gold-plated steel with a deep blue dial, and a limited edition of 1,888 pieces featuring a steel case with an opaline dial and green counters.

The new releases are available in either stainless steel or rose gold-plated. The case features a 41mm diameter and a height of 14.22mm, with rectangular pushers positioned at 2 and 4 o’clock. The convex sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clear visibility, while the see-through caseback allows for a glimpse of the intricate movement.

The watches come in two dials with a tri-compax layout, either an opaline dial with dark green sub-dials or a navy blue dial with silver sub-dials. Both designs feature a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, a small seconds at 9 o'clock, and a globe pattern embossed in the center. The dials are further enhanced by applied indices and hands with white Super-LumiNova. 

At the heart of these timepieces is the calibre FC-391 column wheel chronograph, based on the Valjoux 7750. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800vph (4Hz), and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is beautifully decorated with Côtes de Genève on the plate and on the gold rotor.

The stainless steel model comes with a dark green calf leather strap featuring a crocodile pattern, and a pin buckle. An additional dark green rubber strap and a stainless steel bracelet are also included. The rose gold-plated version is paired with a navy blue leather strap with a crocodile pattern, along with an extra navy blue rubber strap.

As we mentioned, the stainless steel variant is limited to 1,888 pieces and is priced at EUR 3,495, equivalent to AED 13,720. Meanwhile, the rose gold-plated variant joins the permanent line and is priced at EUR 3,995, equivalent to AED 15,700.
