A Bold New Evolution of Its Iconic Dial, Featuring a Vivid Violet Aesthetic
Kollokium, the emerging brand that launched its first watch in late 2023, has succeeded from the outset in crafting a distinctive design identity that is instantly recognizable. Its vision is built on an unconventional approach to case and dial design, characterized by a raw and bold aesthetic. The case is made from 316L stainless steel using a mold-casting technique instead of traditional machining, giving it a visually industrial and rugged appearance, yet surprisingly smooth to the touch.
The latest release, Kollokium Projekt 01 Variant F, retains the same case design as previous editions, but the brand has introduced several updates to the signature dial. This model represents Kollokium’s boldest concept yet, featuring an astonishing 488 luminous elements that emit a captivating purple glow. It’s a remarkable evolution of Kollokium’s iconic dial design, with hundreds of Lichtblock components—made from a ceramic and polymer blend infused with luminous material—meticulously hand-applied to allow the cylinders to glow entirely.
The watch measures 40mm at its widest point and maintains the recognizable case shape seen in earlier models. However, it’s now slightly thicker, with a height of 11.95mm due to the addition of a box-shaped domed sapphire crystal. Water resistance has also been improved, increasing from 30 meters to 50 meters.
The case consists of two parts: a barrel-shaped caseback and lugs inspired by screwdriver heads, evoking industrial engineering. The absence of a bezel enhances legibility, allowing the box-shaped sapphire crystal, coated with anti-reflective treatment, to provide a clearer view of the dial.
While previous versions featured black or grey dials, Variant F debuts in purple. The dial base is adorned with 488 cylinders made from a ceramic-polymer blend, infused with an unprecedented amount of Super-LumiNova. The hands are also purple, maintaining their familiar shape with contrasting white edges. All dial components and hands emit a vivid purple glow in low-light conditions.
The most notable difference in this edition lies in the lighting method: each luminous cylinder glows entirely, unlike previous models which used solid tubes that only emitted light from the top surface. This creates a more dramatic and striking visual effect.
The watch is powered by the same Swiss automatic movement used in previous editions: the La Joux-Perret G101 caliber, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a robust 68-hour power reserve.
It comes with a flexible grey rubber strap, fitted with a molded steel buckle crafted using the same casting technique as the case, and features a system for easy and quick size adjustment.
The Kollokium Projekt 01 Variant F is a limited edition of just 399 pieces, priced at CHF 3,666.66, approximately AED 16,360.
