Their First-Ever Gold-Colored Case and a Limited Edition Featuring Eastern Arabic Numerals
When discussing prominent English watch brands, Bremont and Christopher Ward often come to mind as the most active names. However, another notable independent name is George Smith, whose remarkable timepieces are memorable, as showcased recently at the British Watchmaking event. One English brand we haven't discussed in depth before is Farer. We previously mentioned them only once, when they launched The Cobb III Edition, featuring a colorful dial in homage to Britain's motor racing heritage.
Among Farer’s renowned collections is the Cushion Case range, as the name suggests, designed with a cushion-shaped case. This design combines a square form with rounded edges, creating a unique blend of elegance and sportiness. Farer has now expanded this collection with four new editions, one of which will be a limited edition of only 100 pieces.
The new additions to Farer’s Cushion Case collection include four colors, with the introduction of their first-ever gold-colored case. These models feature 38.5mm cases made from 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed finishes, while the Lethbridge Gold boasts a yellow gold PVD finish. Although most of the range uses a polished case, the Benham model features a fully brushed bezel. All cases offer 50 meters of water resistance.
The four new editions are the Benham with a burgundy dial, the Mansfield Midnight in blue, the Lethbridge Gold, and the limited-edition Durham Pullman Eastern Arabic.
Benham: This model stands out with its burgundy dial, accented by horizontal grooves and a blue seconds hand on the sub-dial. It is inspired by Gertrude Benham, an English explorer and mountaineer.
Mansfield Midnight: Featuring a refined aesthetic, this watch has a deep inky blue dial highlighted by polished rose gold batons and numerals, complemented by rose gold dauphine hands for a classic look.
Lethbridge Gold: Introducing gold to the Cushion Case collection for the first time, this model has a beige-colored metallic dial and a satin-finished raised ring. The polished Arabic numerals and slim dauphine hands in yellow gold PVD enhance the warm tones of the dial.
Durham Pullman Eastern Arabic Limited Edition: This limited-edition watch features Eastern Arabic numerals on a dark green dial, with colors shifting in tone as light changes. The silver numerals and dauphine hands add elegance, further emphasized by the intricately designed seconds sub-dial, which includes a sunken silver ring with a guilloché pattern. This edition is limited to just 100 units.
All watches in the series are powered by the Sellita SW216-1 Elaboré Grade movement, offering approximately 45 hours of power reserve when fully wound, visible through the sapphire exhibition case back.
While all editions are part of the permanent line, the Durham Pullman Edition is limited to 100 pieces. The new Cushion Case watches are priced at GBP 925, equivalent to 3,850 AED, while the stainless steel bracelet edition is available for GBP 1,075, equivalent to 5,000 AED.
