A Luxurious Rose Gold Edition Showcasing a New Guilloché Dial Pattern
Since Parmigiani Fleurier launched its Tonda PF Sport Chronograph in 2023, the collection has expanded with several editions crafted from a range of materials from robust stainless steel to high-tech cermet, the brand’s proprietary alloy of ceramic and metal. Sizes have also varied, from 40mm to 42mm. Now, the collection welcomes a new and elegant addition: a 42mm rose gold version distinguished by a refined guilloché pattern and a clean, dateless dial, a design choice previously seen in the smaller 40mm models introduced last year.
The new Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Sandstone features a 42mm case crafted from 18ct rose gold, with a thickness of 12.9mm. The case is finished with a mix of satin brushing and polished accents, maintaining the signature Tonda aesthetic, complete with the iconic knurled bezel, also in rose gold. Combined with a screw-down crown, the case ensures water resistance up to 100 metres.
The watch’s name ‘’Sandstone’’ evokes the warmth of summer, with the sub-dials’ soft sandy tones contrasting beautifully against the silver guilloché background of the dial, which plays subtly with the light.
Departing from the collection’s traditional barleycorn guilloché motif, this Sandstone edition introduces a clou triangulaire pattern adorning the silvery dial.
The three sub-dials, rendered in a refined sandstone hue, complement the brushed peripheral minute track. Hand-applied rose gold indices filled with black Super-LumiNova are paired with openworked delta-shaped hour and minute hands in rose gold, also tipped with luminescent material for optimal legibility. The Chronograph and small seconds hands are made of steel and rose gold-plated.
As seen in previous 40mm versions, this new chronograph also omits the date window, which was previously positioned at 4:30. The only visible branding on the dial is the refined, applied oval PF logo in rose gold at 12 o’clock.
Exposed beneath the transparent case back is the automatic caliber PF070, the same movement used in the previous editions. Made in-house and COSC-certified, this integrated chronograph movement boasts an impressive 65-hour power reserve and operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz). The movement’s aesthetics are enhanced by satin-finished, open-worked bridges with hand-bevelled edges, and a stunning 22-carat rose gold oscillating weight that is skeletonized, polished, and sandblasted, adding a luxurious touch to the watch.
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Rose Gold Sandstone is presented on a Tufo rubber strap, secured with a matching rose gold folding clasp. It is priced at CHF 49,000, approximately equivalent to AED 224,500.
